On August 26th, 2010 DePuy Orthopedics Inc. announced the DePuy Hip Replacement recall. This hip recall affects both the ASR XL Acetabular System and the ASR Hip Resurfacing System. DePuy estimates that approximately 10,000 hip replacement patients may need this potentially painful removal and replacement surgery.
